Verification & Control Inspector I (Salaried) - Ambridge, PA
LOCATION: Ambridge - Pennsylvania - USA
DEPARTMENT: QUALITY
Purpose:
Ensure, through established processes, controls, and verifications, the prevention of dispatching nonconforming products. Proactively identify potential risks through process and product verifications to prevent nonconformities, while supporting continuous improvement in quality processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform production process and record verifications to ensure compliance with QMS documents; maintain accurate records and follow the verification plan.
- Identify quality findings along the process, support follow-up of quality events, and review the quality of proposed corrective actions.
- Place material on hold when compliance with requirements is in doubt and support its release after verification.
- Support the area in improving Quality KPIs, understanding deviation causes, and monitoring corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for quality-related processes.
- Performs the verifications and/or final inspections as requested.
- Supports manufacturing areas on technical matters as required.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive action taken as part of a quality event.
- Detects and reports any HSE deviation or risk observed during his/her activities.
- Act as a reference for process and product quality; propose solutions to identified risks and monitor corrective actions.
- Proposes solutions to problems or risks detected and follows up and evaluates the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive action taken.
- Conduct product, process, and system audits as required.
- Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced Knowledge in QMS requirements, API/ISO standards, verification & auditing processes, non-conformity reporting, root cause analysis, risk assessments, effectiveness evaluations.
- Intermediate Knowledge in OCTG production processes (hot rolling mill, NDT, finishing), data analysis, statistics, Minitab, advanced Excel for process improvement.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate team tasks, and make decisions under pressure.
- Professional attitude with leadership and team coordination capabilities.
- Strong time management, self-initiative, and proactive problem-solving.
- Effective collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
