Base Maintenance Group Supervisor I - Bay City, TX  

 

LOCATION: Bay City - Texas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS 

 

Purpose:

Develops and supervises the execution of the Preventive Maintenance plans. Ensure systematic failure, problem, and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities for combustion furnaces instrumentation and control systems to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Optimizes reliability and maintainability of equipment by managing all preventive, corrective, safety, quality, environmental, and emergency maintenance plans from planning through execution and reporting in SAP, ensuring compliance with safety standards and timelines.
  • Coordinates Planned Maintenance (PM Days) across all three production lines, guaranteeing effective scheduling and execution to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance with emissions regulations on a daily basis and during periodic external audits, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain environmental standards.
  • Oversees safety in all maintenance activities, reviewing and validating risk assessments prior to job commencement, and continuously monitoring during execution to ensure adherence to HSE protocols.
  • Manages internal maintenance team and third-party contractors, providing guidance, technical support, and ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
  • Secures spare parts availability by coordinating with purchasing, and warehouse teams, overseeing the process from procurement through installation and testing to guarantee operational continuity.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing failures, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Complies with Tenaris policies and HSE standards, reporting incidents, performing inspections, and implementing preventive/corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

 

Knowledge Required:

  • SAP Maintenance Management – Proficient in using SAP for planning, executing, and reporting maintenance activities.
  • Maintenance Supervision – Strong understanding of managing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance processes.
  • Instrumentation and Process Control – Knowledge of industrial instrumentation systems and process control principles.
  • Combustion Principles and Emissions Control – Familiarity with combustion systems, emissions regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Refractory and Insulation – Understanding of refractory materials and insulation techniques for high-temperature equipment.
  • Contractor and Personnel Management – Ability to manage internal teams and external contractors effectively.
  • Maintenance Performance Analysis – Skilled in analyzing maintenance KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities, and optimizing reliability.
