Compliance & Employee Relations Manager - Bay City, TX  

 

LOCATION: Bay City - Texas  - USA

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Directs the implementation of compliance plans, policies and training programs through Human Resources management at the Bay City steel manufacturing facility.
  • Builds, manages, and mentors a team of business partnership professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Partners with managers and employees to facilitate positive interactions and effective outcomes, oversees and provides industrial safety and quality training and support with supervisor management matters including OSHA related training, API related training, employee investigations, performance coaching, performance improvement plans, written warnings, disciplinary actions and communications.
  • Ensures effective management of costs.
  • Assumes responsibility for all phases of the investigation lifecycle for cases related to workplace conduct, culture and conflict, including intake, background research, witness/subject interviews, writing summary reports, presentation of findings to stakeholders for resolution of substantiated matters, and debrief meetings with leadership.
  • Supporting EEOC matters.
  • Analyzes best practices in the industrial manufacturing and oilfield services sectors to help develop proactive strategies solutions, programs and policies in order to ensure compliance with various laws and regulations and internal compliance procedures as well as for continuous improvement projects.
  • Participates in the annual performance management process and provides training as necessary.
  • Collaborates in the development and delivery of training initiatives to improve business leaders' capabilities related to positive employee relations and labor relations, effective employee performance management, conflict management, and employment and labor relations best practices.
  • Takes on other stretch assignments and more challenging projects that impact the entire enterprise as it relates to employee and labor relations matters.
  • Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related occupation working in multinational/global large-scale steel manufacturing or oilfield services performing each of the following: data management & extraction and analytics using pivot tables, look up, data validation, VBA code and power BI; create Key Performance Indicators to optimize HR processes; identify training needs for engineers; consult with director level internal stakeholders to plan and execute cross functional initiatives; coach and advise directors, supervisors and employees on various matters including explanation of job functions, requirements for technical positions and management techniques; utilizing SAP and SuccessFactors; develop training programs to align with federal, state & local laws governing HSE and employment policies and practices.

 

Special Requirement: Requires up to 15% domestic and 15% international travel to other Tenaris sites.
