Verification & Control Inspector I - Bay City, TX

Purpose:
The Verification and Control Inspector is responsible for monitoring the performance of key manufacturing processes, including Hot Rolling, Heat Treatment, NDT inspection, and threading, to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role involves analyzing and validating daily, weekly, and monthly data to identify trends, deviations, or potential risks that could affect process or product performance. The role performs physical verifications of materials and processes, collaborates with Operations to define and implement corrective or preventive actions, supports FMEA and other quality improvement initiatives, and identifies opportunities for process improvement. Additionally, the role ensures critical orders, products, and projects are appropriately followed up and serves as a technical reference for process and product quality.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor quality KPIs and overall process performance.
- Identify trends and deviations that could impact product or process performance.
- Perform physical verifications of materials (diameter, wall thickness, thread parameters, etc.) to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Support and/or perform FMEA and other preventive/corrective actions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions taken as part of quality events.
- Detect and report HSE deviations or risks observed during activities.
- Perform product, process, and system audits as requested.
- Propose solutions for problems or risks detected and follow up on implementation and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure alignment and support.
- Protects from damage, theft or misuse of the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Proficient in software management (Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills; able to identify trends, deviations, and underlying process issues.
- Knowledge of quality improvement tools and methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, DMAIC).
- Understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
- Familiarity with mechanical measuring tools (caliper, tape, micrometer).
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills; able to engage with teams and present information clearly.
- Ability to evaluate compliance with standards and regulations.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and quick to learn; capable of working independently.
