Automation Robotics and Vision BMG L5  

 

LOCATION: Baytown - Texas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE 

 

Purpose
Performs electric and electronic (focused on robotics, artificial vision, automation and CNC) advance maintenance inspections, diagnosis and corrective actions, performing systematic analysis of problems and improvement opportunities, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
 - Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.         
 - Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations.         
 - Carry out duties in an efficient manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.         
 - Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
 - Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy and product traceability.         
 - Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.                         
 - Attend and collaborate in training activities in ordered to maintain and increase the company knowledge.         
 - Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities. 
 - Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
 - Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.
 - Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.         
Main Activities
- Inspects, diagnoses and performs advanced electric and electronic repairs, replacements and upgrades.
- Follows up repairs ensuring the performed work effectiveness.
- Inspects, diagnosis and improvement of any robot (including end of arm tools), automation and vision equipment according to maintenance plans.
- Makes complex failure analysis, establishing the problems' root causes and taking actions to avoid repetitions.
- Performs reviews of emergency groups' repairs and complex failure analysis.
- Plans subassemblies policies.
- Develops advanced PLC programs and software.
- Interprets electrical drawings.
- Verifies the correct functioning of tools, instruments and accessories checking they fulfill with specifications.
- Develops and tests preventive complex maintenance plans.
- Plans corrective actions for scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns, based on the inspections performed or the problems diagnosed.
- Guarantees the availability of resources, ensuring a suitable minimum stock and the definition of the required information on the maintenance systems.
- Interacts with other areas.
- Carries out forklift or radio control overhead crane operation when applicable.
- Updates information in the maintenance systems and performs maintenance reports.
- Define with the support of Maintenance Engineering and according with the equipment criticality analysis, the maintenance policies applicable to the equipment under his/her responsibility, and needed to comply with the maintenance performance goals.
- Propose and execute PIN plans in quality and quantity to comply with Tenaris maintenance standards, to installations and equipment under his/her area of responsibility.
- Propose and execute master plans to continue improve the maintenance performance, focusing in safety, reliability, and maintainability. 
- Perform and/or facilitate in coordination with Maintenance Engineering the execution of inspection plans using predictive technics and/or technologies.
- Participating actively in Continuous Improvement Groups (CIG) covering safety, production, quality, and/or maintenance topic.
- Actively participate and collaborate with production teams in increasing performance indicators (Quality rejects, CTT, CTR, Change overs, Operative interruption) in his/her area of influence or expertise. 
Minimum Qualification for the Job
 - Health, Safety and Environment.
 - Quality System.        
 - On The Job Training.        
 - Product Inspection when applicable
 - Certification when applicable.            
Profile (Minimum requirements)
- Complete High School or Technical College or Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in the company or 2/3 years operating or maintaining heavy manufacturing steel industrial system, or equivalent and entry level exam approved.
