Finishing Rebuild Shop Technician III  

LOCATION: Blytheville - Arkansas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform teardown, cleaning, inspection, repair, assembly, and functional testing of assigned finishing equipment.
• Rebuild critical assemblies such as chucks, threader gearboxes, coolant tubes and manifolds, hydrotester fill and purge components, index roll assemblies, coupling starters, hydraulic cylinders, and related mechanical equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, clearances, fits, runout, flatness, alignment, and component condition.
• Operate authorized surface-grinding, drilling, pressing, hydraulic, and pneumatic test equipment after required qualification.
• Identify wear, damage, contamination, and recurring failure conditions; document findings and recommend corrective action.
• Maintain accurate rebuild history, inspection measurements, parts usage, photographs, test data, and work status in approved systems.
• Coordinate machining or outside-service requirements through supervision and support installation, startup, and post-installation follow-up.
• Contribute to rebuild procedures, acceptance criteria, fixtures, training materials, failure analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, housekeeping, and asset-protection requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial mechanical maintenance, equipment rebuild, or closely related experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, bills of material, and assembly documentation.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including bearings, shafts, seals, gearboxes, fasteners, and precision fits.
• Ability to use micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, surface plates, precision levels, and related inspection tools.
• Ability to document technical findings and work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Engineering, the machine shop, and approved suppliers.
• Ability to safely use material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance degree, apprenticeship, military technical training, or recognized technical certification.
• Five years of industrial mechanical maintenance or precision equipment rebuild experience.
• Experience with surface grinding, hydraulic testing, precision assembly, equipment failure analysis, or computerized maintenance systems.
• Experience supporting finishing-line equipment or other production-critical mechanical assemblies.
