Position:  Industrial Process Senior Technologist
Entity/Department: Maverick Tube Corporation
Location: Blytheville, AR

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  • Identify and implement the best operation practices by promoting technological update, collaborating in the compliance with production programs, optimizing processes as well as most relevant supplies costs, complying with defined quality standards and working within a safe work environment.
  • Provide quality assurance for end products, analyzing performance of the manufacturing process and designing or improving manufacturing practices.
  • Comply with established quality standards, designing a stable and defect-free process and tracking quality procedures from generation to implementation.
  • Provide optimization to the process using technological information and reports from competitors, benchmarking activities and Research and Development areas.
  • Coordinate technological Research and Development activities in the area.
  • Provide technical support ensuring the provision of technical service on initiatives of new projects related to the line/process.
  • Ensure satisfaction of internal clients and external customers by monitoring product quality results and analyzing/implementing action plans as required.
  • Collaborate in the fulfillment of cost objectives optimizing the use of the most relevant supplies as well as compliance with line manufacturing programs verifying that the performance of machinery and instruments used in the production process respond to established use and efficiency criteria.
  • Cooperate with Product Development Dept. for the development of new products (new specifications, different dimensional characteristics etc.) and with Engineering for the development and design of investments.
  • Contributes from a technical perspective in the analysis and solution of highly complex issues, acting as a formal referent in the mill(s) under charge and other mills, whenever required, in one or more technologies under the area of specialty.
  • Collaborate with Tenaris University in order to guarantee knowledge sharing in the area of specialty by participating in the development, revision and update of courses, ensuring active participation in training activities, and supporting the communication process.
  • Take into consideration energy saving issues when developing phases and process.
  • Participate in HSE objectives setting, defining and implementing programs and actions applicable to the area of responsibility for continual improvement of HSE performance.
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related occupation evaluating and implementing process improvements in all stages of the Electrical Resistance Welding pipe manufacturing process including slitting, end welding, breakdown, fin pass, welding box, annealing, Ultrasonic NDT inspection, cut-off, straightening, and visual inspection. Experience must include three (3) years applying each of the following: API specifications 5CT for Casing and Tubing & SL for Linepipe; IBA process analysis; Failure Analysis methodology utilizing Pareto, Fishbone diagram, and cause-effect methods.

 

Special Requirement: Minimum of 5% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel to complete benchmarking practices or assist other Tenaris mills with troubleshooting and improvements.
