LOCATION: Calgary, AB

Position Summary
The Sales Manager is part of a high performance Commercial team that manages existing Tenaris customer accounts while developing new business opportunities. The Sales Manager is responsible for negotiating the sales of product and services, the offering process and the order follow up for TenarisShawcor’s coating business. The Sales Manager is motivated to achieve strong results and meet sales targets. The Sales Manager upholds Tenaris’s values and standards and may lead a small sales team and/or manage projects.
Role and Responsibilities
The Sales Manager will own a specific set of accounts, develop new business, and be responsible for the following (either individually or as a team leader):
- Develop, implement and maintain sales strategy for TenarisShawcor’s coating business
- Expand Tenaris business within existing accounts and new targets by prospecting, qualifying and closing opportunities based on sales strategy and regional market intelligence
- Development of forecast sales in conjunction with clients and achieve weekly, monthly and quarterly volume and revenue targets
- Monitor Tenaris performance, develop KPI’s, review with internal and external stakeholders and adjust direction, focus and sales initiatives as needed
- Understand Tenaris product and service portfolio and leverage this knowledge to satisfy client needs proactively
- Work collaboratively with the broader Sales team and Business Coordination team to ensure we are exceeding client requirements
- Accountable for full sales cycle from the initial offer and closing of the deal to claims management and mediating any collection issues.
- Lead negotiations with customers including final offer presentation and authorizations
- Responsible for contract management including establishing contracts and ongoing contract maintenance
- Sales order initialization and customer purchase order acknowledgement
- Provide ongoing feedback from clients to leadership including reporting and analytics as required
- Manages special assignments and projects as needed to enhance the team’s portfolio and processes
- Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with, helps develop the team, and manages HR related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures.
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
- Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
Skills, Education and Experience
- Academic degree in Business or Engineering
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
- Previous experience working in forecasting and other sales related platforms will be considered an asset
