Base Maintenance Group Supervisor I - Channelview, TX
LOCATION: Channelview - Texas - USA
DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS
SCHEDULE:
- Regular: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Weekend work may be required depending on workload and business needs.
- Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support, emergency response, and on-call coverage as operational needs require, including the ability to work both day and night shifts.
PURPOSE: Develops and supervises the execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan. Ensures systematic failure, problem, and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities. Supports the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the startup of new pieces of equipment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES
- Optimizes reliability and maintainability of equipment by defining the maintenance strategy for each system, developing, and supervising the execution of the Preventive maintenance plan, ensuring systematic failure, problem, and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities, providing technical support to emergency crews and staff areas.
- Performs and oversees inspections in his/her area of responsibility.
- Guarantees technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock.
- Supports the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the startup of new pieces of equipment. In addition, support other areas in the definitions related to his/her area of responsibility
- Draws up the maintenance cost budget and keep costs within agreed limits.
- Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices.
- To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections, and participate in the investigation process.
- Implement the preventive/corrective actions. Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.
- Participates in the development of maintenance information systems and supports actions as required. Analyzes and uses the information provided to support the decision-making process.
- Participates in maintenance programs to minimize/optimize the use of required energy.
- Analyzes, interprets, and recommends courses of action for more complex topics.
- Interacts with internal and/or external contacts with a higher level of autonomy.
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards, and ensure adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
- Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops his/her staff and manage HR related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures. Protect from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Hands-on experience with automation and control systems, including PLC programming and troubleshooting is required.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical instrumentation, controls, and industrial electrical systems is required.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is required.
- Working knowledge of HMI systems, industrial networks, and automation technologies is required.
- Experience supporting electrical design and implementation of automation improvement projects is required.
- Ability to troubleshoot safety control systems, including banner safety systems is required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and organizational skills is required.
- Ability to work effectively with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, contractors, and cross-functional teams is required.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Automation Engineering related discipline preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and shop floor presence within an active industrial environment.
- Regular interaction with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and leadership teams.
- Must be able to work in industrial environments requiring PPE and exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk throughout industrial facilities and access elevated work areas.
- Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
