- Purpose:
- Assist management in implementing the HSE Management System and promote excellence in HSE plant performance. Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Take samples and measurements of hazardous materials and coordinates corrective measures. Train plant employees on safety, company policies and procedures and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensure compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations. Ensure proper records are prepared and maintained. Acts as the primary contact with SEMARNAT and all HSE related activities.
- Activities:
- Regulations: Oversee and manage environmental regulatory compliance, including air emissions, hazardous waste management, energy reduction, water/effluent control and all applicable permits. Manage HSE compliance requirements with SEMARNAT. Ensure external regulatory compliance and internal company compliance are maintained.
- Implementation/Training: Take the lead on implementation of HSE Management System. Assess training needs, conduct employee training or coordinate outside expertise to deliver training. Ensure that HSE training program are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Assess implementation progress and advise management of areas needing improvement.
- Risk Assessment: Oversee risk management program form identifying risks to reduction techniques, and reduce work related risk exposure to a level as low as practical. Include all construction and start-up related activities.
- Technical Support: Provide technical HSE support to plant management. Maintain expertise level in HSE Management and appropriate knowledge of Federal/State regulations.
- Reporting: Coordinate collection of samples and reporting of all required HSE statistics and other program information. Assist in claims management.
