Emergency Group Shift Leader I (Electrical) - Houston, TX (TCT)  

LOCATION: Houston - Texas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS 

Purpose:
The Emergency Group Shift Leader I (Electrical) is responsible for minimizing production downtime by ensuring accurate failure diagnosis and timely execution of corrective maintenance activities. This role leads and supervises maintenance personnel during daily operations and equipment breakdowns, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with HSE standards. The position supports equipment availability, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Schedule: Central shift (10-12 hours). This position provides support for emergency maintenance response after hours and outside of the assigned shift schedule when needed.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of 4 maintenance technicians during daily operations, breakdowns, and scheduled maintenance activities.

• Assign, prioritize, and monitor maintenance work to ensure timely and effective execution.

• Direct troubleshooting and failure analysis to restore equipment operation.

• Coordinate maintenance activities with production and external service providers.

• Support preventive maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Verify the availability of technical resources, spare parts, and minimum stock levels required for maintenance activities.

• Ensure accurate work orders and equipment history in CMMS systems (SAP).

• Minimizes the impact of failures on production processes by ensuring the correct diagnosis of the problem/failure and the execution of the necessary interventions on equipment to mantain its availability and reliability.

• Performs simple inspections on operative equipment.

• Supports BMGs in the execution of preventive tasks during the normal course of production and/or scheduled interventions.

• Supports BMGs in the execution of failure analyses.

• Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices. To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections and participate in the investigation process. Implement the preventive/corrective actions.

• Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.

• Manages and updates the maintenance information system and technical documentation, keeping record of the information related to his/her area.

• Participates in maintenance programs to minimize/optimize the use of required energy.

• Analyzes, interprets and recommends courses of action for more complex topics.

• Interacts with internal and/or external contacts with a higher level of autonomy.

• Acts as a "shift leader" being responsible for leading employees during their assigned time period/shift, coordinating schedules, assigning responsibilities and ensure work safety conditions.

• Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.

• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and safe work practices; report and support incident investigations.

• Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops his/her staff and manages HR related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures. Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance teams (2+ people) in industrial manufacturing, with direct responsibility for daily work execution

• Strong electrical troubleshooting capability in industrial equipment

• Hands-on experience coordinating corrective maintenance and managing breakdown response

• Experience using CMMS systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for work orders and reporting

• Working knowledge of HSE requirements and safe work practices in industrial environments

• Technical degree in Electrical field is preferred

• Ability to work in industrial conditions, including climbing, lifting, and rotating 12-hour shifts (day/night)
