Technical Sales Engineer - Houston, Tx
LOCATION: Houston - Texas - USA
DEPARTMENT: TECHNICAL SALES
Purpose:
<span 72="">Defines Tenaris products and discovers those needed for the future, applying products into new applications and technically proving Tenaris value. Sells Tenaris products and services through engineered, value-based solutions. Provides direct technical support for external and internal customers by identifying the best suited Tenaris products and services for the given oil and gas applications. This role includes occasional travel to operational sites to support customer needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Builds high-quality, lasting technical relationships through a strong understanding of customer operations, challenges, and goals.
- Provides technical support to external and internal customers regarding Tenaris products and services, ensuring the best-fit solutions for each application.
- Serves as a focal point for Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis, and Dissatisfaction Event management, and leads customer investigations and claims resolution within the assigned region.
- Participates in the deployment of new products and technologies, supporting field validation and customer adoption.
- Offers value-added services such as string design, running services, inspection, and training as an empowered member of the customer team.
- Develops and maintains detailed mapping of customers and competitors within the assigned operational region to support strategic decision-making.
- Discovers opportunities, adds value to customer operations, proves differentiation. Assists in the development and distribution of sales tools with a proactive sales approach.
- Provides input toward writing company objectives communicating how Tenaris can serve customers better.
- Participates in setting and reviewing customer specific sales strategies
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
- Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
Education Requirement:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of petroleum engineering concepts, practices, and principles in the oil and gas industry.
- Skilled in identifying and analyzing causes of product or operational failures, with the ability to recommend corrective actions.
- Experience in leading and managing projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of outcomes.
- Expertise in creating and delivering clear, compelling presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in managing client-supplier relationships to ensure mutual benefit and long-term success.
- Ability to design and deliver technical training programs to internal teams and external clients.
- Highly motivated with a strong focus on achieving goals and driving results independently.
- Proficiency in OCTG Products and Application in string design, material selection, and torque drag and fatigue as they pertain to oil and gas operations.
- Basic understanding of managing and developing connections within oil and gas operations.
