Title:  Caster Operator

Schedule: Will work on a rotating shift.

Purpose

Controls the operation of casting steel into solid bars, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

- Defines and controls steel mixture according to steel quality requirements.
- Programs and controls process time.
- Controls tundish pre heating.
- Changes and controls consumables ensuring their availability.
- Manages technologic rejections.
- Coordinates operative functions in CC.
- Assists repairs of the secondary cooling such as nozzle and segments replacement.
- Carries out cutting and punching control.
- Carries out steel cleanness on punctures.
- Coordinates and changes segments.
- Updates information in the tracking systems.
- Coordinates activities with EAF and CC.
