Heat Treatment & Finishing Shift Leader - Koppel, PA  

 

LOCATION: Koppel - Pennsylvania  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS 

 

Purpose:


Coordinates and controls the Adjusting and Finishing area operations, ensuring compliance with the Finishing Manufacturing volume and customer quality standards, ensuring the equipment correct functioning, guaranteeing the quality of Heat treatment process and promoting the optimization of the production processes and tools and minimizing the accidents risks. Facilitates the implementation of technological changes. Generates a safe work environment.

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures compliance with Finishing manufacturing volume and Heat Treatment production process adjusting production plans according to customer/product specifications, coordinating operation practices, personnel safety and applies defined indicators and proposes improvements to the processes.
  • Complies with each customer quality standards and each line inspection and test plans, correcting and preventing quality product related issues, as well as with process quality standards by observing discard and scrap levels in the heat treatment area.
  • Ensures fulfilment of cost objectives tracking evolution, detecting deviations visàvis the standard.
  • Manages, organizes and controls the stock under area of responsibility, executing physical inventory controls and audits, ensuring safe movement, storage and use of stocks and spare parts. Keeps appropriate and cost effective stock levels.
  • Facilitates the implementation of technological changes by identifying the best technology, new applications and their best use.
  • Ensures the correct functioning of equipment, correcting failures with preventive solutions without interrupting the process.
  • Verifies the application and development of safety standards and environmental practices/legislation.
  • Guarantees compliance and respect for the consumption targets/goals, carrying out appropriate actions on employees' behaviour that contribute to the improvement and/or productive/efficient use of the plant resources, as well as the decrease of the energy consumptions and waste.
  • Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
  • Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops his/her staff and manages HR related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures. Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
  • To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections and participate in the investigation process. Implement the preventive/corrective actions.Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.
