Maintenance Supervisor I
LOCATION: Nisku - Alberta - Canada

Role
As a Base Maintenance Group Supervisor I, you will lead maintenance teams to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our manufacturing processes. Your role will encompass hands-on technical support, team leadership, and the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance actions to uphold equipment reliability and availability, while developing and supervising the Preventive Maintenance plan, conducting systematic equipment analysis to drive improvements, and supporting Engineering in evaluating and starting up new equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize equipment reliability by defining maintenance strategies, overseeing preventive maintenance, analyzing failures, and implementing corrective and improvement actions. Provide technical support during emergencies.
- Conduct and supervise inspections to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation.
- Maintain availability of critical technical resources by managing minimum stock levels.
- Support Engineering in evaluating, selecting, and commissioning new equipment, and advise other areas on maintenance-related topics.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring costs align with approved limits.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards, including reporting, inspections, investigations, and maintaining updated risk assessments.
- Use maintenance information systems to analyze data and support operational decision‑making.
- Contribute to programs aimed at reducing or optimizing energy use.
- Assess complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions with a high degree of autonomy.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support maintenance and operational priorities.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring effective performance and adherence to HR processes.
- Protect and ensure proper use of facilities, equipment, and other physical assets.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a related role.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience or experience mentoring and providing direction team members.
- Previous experience in developing and implementing a preventative maintenance plan.
- Previous SAP experience will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing facility is an asset.
- Previous experience with CNC lathes is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Access and other Microsoft Office applications.
