HSE TECHNICIAN SURINAME  

 

LOCATION: Paramaribo - Paramaribo  - Suriname 

DEPARTMENT: HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT 

 

Health, Safety and Environment Technician

Position Purpose

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Technician supports the HSE function in the region, ensuring that the HSE Management System is implemented in accordance with Company requirements, procedures, and applicable legal regulations at the assigned site.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment roles.

  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, or heavy industry operations is preferred.

  • Experience implementing HSE Management Systems and ensuring compliance with local HSE regulations, ISO standards, and other applicable international standards.

  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, inspection processes, internal audits, or environmental impact management is an asset.

Certifications and Training

  • Training or certification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 (formerly OHSAS 18001) is an asset.

  • Courses or certifications in auditing, risk management, HSE leadership, or local HSE regulations are desirable.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate with the relevant areas in the systematic identification, assessment, and control of hazards and risks.

  • Support the implementation of Company HSE procedures, ensuring they are properly issued, implemented, maintained, and updated.

  • Prepare and provide periodic HSE reports and follow up on relevant indicators.

  • Analyze HSE statistics, trends, and action plans, proposing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Participate in and support the development and delivery of HSE training.

  • Participate in Company HSE committees and meetings.

  • Support and assist clients and other interested parties by analyzing their requirements and implementing changes when necessary.

  • Follow up on the proper use and application of Company HSE-related IT tools.

  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards, as well as all applicable laws and regulations within the area of responsibility.

  • Safeguard the facilities, equipment, and other physical resources assigned to the area from damage, theft, or misuse.
