Communications Global Trainee - Recent Graduate

 

LOCATION: SAULT STE. MARIE - ONTARIO - CANADA

DEPARTMENT: COMMUNICATIONS

 

We are seeking recent graduates to join our communications team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The successful candidates will be hired to be part of our Global Trainee (GT) Program.  This 2-year program includes opportunities for training, international travel and networking.

The Global Trainee position contributes to a specific function while they learn, train and improve skills in that particular area in order to gain a profound understanding of processes, products and services. F

 

Job Description:

  • Execute strategic communications plans; shaping the message that supports the communications strategy, in partnership with local leadership and the communications manager.
  • Develop content (articles, videos and multimedia, social media, digital signage, emails, amongst others), leveraging a network of vendors.
  • Provide direction to internal clients using the most effective and efficient communications channels and technology.
  • Serve as corporate branding subject matter expert and provide initial review of content to ensure adherence to and proper use of the brand in company’s corporate materials.
  • Assist in the planning of employee events from concept to completion (including employee townhalls, webcasts, family days and other internal events).
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees at all levels in support of internal communications strategies.
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required

 

Experience and Education

  • No more than 4 years of related professional experience
  • Graduated with a university degree in the last 4 years; majoring in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related disciplines
  • Strong writing and editing skills. Be prepared to provide writing samples.
  • Knowledge of Spanish or Italian a plus.
  • Excellent Office Suite skills
  • Self-driven and self-starter
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Enjoys fast paced environment
  • Loves to learn and able to execute high level results
