We are currently seeking a motivated Project Engineer with 5-10 (or 2-5) years of experience to manage civil construction projects, including contractors’ management, review and maintain schedule, budget control, change orders analysis/management, coordinate construction planning activities, fast-paced deadline.

 

 

LocationSault Ste. Marie, ON

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops technical specifications for scope of work related to civil construction oriented to offices renovation and industrial foundations/structures.

  • Participates in bidding process by answering technical questions.

  • Performs technical review and analysis of potential Contractor’s proposals.

  • Coordinates RFI’s responses, reviews and approves submittals.

  • Designs review and coordination among disciplines, architectural and MEP.

  • Proposes change orders management, reviews and analyzes them for upper management review.

  • Conducts site meetings as required, creates comprehensive meeting minutes.

  • Follows-up and secures responses from suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, architects, owners.

  • Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.

  • Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops staff, and manages HR related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures. Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Architect, Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.

  • More than 3 years’ work experience in civil projects activities

  • Detail-oriented and possess effective English written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills

  • Comfortable in a schedule-driven environment and meet deadlines

  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to understand drawing related to design such as Civil, Electrical, Architectural, Plumbing, Fire code, etc.

  • Software knowledge: Office suite, MS Project, CAD

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Mechanical (HVAC), Plumbing, Fire detection/suppression and Electrical systems for commercial construction.

  • Knowledge of civil structure and concrete foundation design.

  • Finishing materials knowledge, and vendors sourcing for Canadian market.
